New story just come out in the May issue of Vogue Japan featuring the gorgeous Catherine McNeil with photography by Hans Feurer, styling by HeatherMary Jackson and hair by Ward. We shot this story on location in Miami and for the make up I kept it cinematic using all MAC products and referencing 1940’s Femme Fatales which is seen in the silhouette of the clothing. To work with the humidity I kept the base light using Studio Moisture Tint and Prep & Prime Highlighter to brighten the skin around the eyes. I created a smoky brown eye using the Eye Shadow Palette in Rimal Dahabia using all four shades and then pencilling in the waterline with Kohl Pencil in Smolder. I love this pencil as you can get a really smudgy effect whilst still remaining a true black. I used Haute & Naughty Too Black Lash Mascarato really add volume and length to the lashes. As we were shooting in natural daylight I used Contour Cream in Coffee Walnut to contour the cheekbones and added a highlight with Strobe Liquid that really shines in the photos and gives that dewy sheen that contrasts against the dark, matte eyes. I used my finger to lightly pat on the lips Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Elegant Accent for a natural stain.
