This shoot in I-D was part of a feature on the talented model and actress Stacy Martin who stars in Lars Von Trier’s forthcoming film Nymphomaniac. Shot by Katja Rahlwes, fashion editor Cathy Kasterine, hair by Vi and with nails by Sophy Robson. The make up was inspired by cinematic 1970s Hollywood with grunge elements with smoky metallic eyes, lots of lashes and pops of colour paired with bright glossy lips. As both the eyes and lips were bold I didn’t use any foundation on Stacy’s skin and instead focused on skincare to make the skin naturally glow. After prepping the skin with a mini facial using MAC’s Care Blend Essential Oils, I moisturised with Laura Mercier Oil Free Day Lotion and used MAC Fast Response Eye Cream to revitalise the skin under the eyes. For the eyes I created a couple of different looks ranging from a brown metallic using Tom Ford’s Eye Quad in Cocoa Mirage layered with MAC Loose Pigment in Tan to bright blue Cindy Sherman style using Make Up Forever Aqua Shadow in Turquoise. Eyelashes were kept consistently thick, black and defined with NARS Volumising Mascara and I played around with lip colour using MACs Ruby Woo for the deep red and YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Rosé Libertin for the bright pink topped with Dior Crystal Gloss
