It may be grey and cold outside but ignore that as it’s now officially wedding season and there are brides to be blushing all over the place. Your wedding should be a relaxing, enjoyable day and I always recommend to have a make up artist on the day to get you feeling your absolute best, I rarely do wedding make up now however I always have someone on hand who does and if this isn’t an option I’ve added a couple of tips and tricks for you here. This is the day above all days to be using a primer as you want your make up to be even and long lasting. For the bright dewy look try Tom Ford’s Illuminating Protective Primer, alternatively if you prefer a more matte finish try Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer which leaves a lovely velvety surface. When applying your foundation I suggest using a sponge as it is a lighter touch than a brush meaning you can build up layers for areas you want more coverage in whilst still keeping it sheer, try Bobbi Brown’s Skin Foundation which gives a beautiful, natural look. For your wedding you should look like your best version of you and this isn’t the time to try out that new red lipstick you liked the look of or strip lashes for the first time. Individual lashes such as Eyelure Naturalite Lashes are great at the outer corners but only if you’re confident, otherwise you could end up looking like the Bearded Lady halfway through the day. Never a good look. I like to keep bridal eye make up soft and pretty, Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in Rosy Tan has a mix of pale pinks, tans and pearl to highlight and shade. Add a darker pencil such as MAC Eye Pencil in Coffee just in the outer corners for definition that the camera will pick up on, finally curl those lashes and amp up the volume with a waterproof mascara such as Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara. A natural lip colour such as Chanel Rouge Coco in Plumetis will make it easier to avoid touch ups throughout out the day as there will be a hell of a lot of kisses going round. Make sure you have a small make up bag for your essentials throughout the day such as Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder and your chosen lip colour, touch ups will be the last thing on your mind but its always handy to have around.
