I spend a lot of time in airports, goes with the job. I am an expert duty free shopper. I know what to get in each major city be it beauty stuff, gifts, treatments & more importantly I can work my way like a makeup ninja ducking & diving past the perfume gals spritz’s & the jolly chaps giving out free mini shots of Bailey’s in the booze section at 9am. For a fab facial & fancy skin care products try Heathrow’s Cocoon , for gorgeous nails try a manicure at JFK or for a shower & relaxing massage try Bangkok Airport Thai Royal Orchid Spa. Recently I came across a makeup & skin care brand called Kiko in Milan’s Linate airport that was new to me. I bought the colour sphere and regular eyeshadows all in amazing shades with intense long lasting pigment. I also bought the fab cream eyeshadows in a self sharpening wind up stick. I loved the sheer ultra glossy lipsticks and bought a fire red (808) & nude (802). That was all I could fit in without missing my flight but I look forward to discovering more from this super affordable great brand with a huge line of colour & product. The picture above is from the current Vogue Italia & you can see the entire shoot here that I did the makeup on, shot by the amazing photographers Luciana Val & Franco Musso & styled by the talented Enrica Ponzellini. The lovely models were identical twins, we all had a lot of fun on this camp tongue in chic but oh so fabulous shoot! For those going on their hols my favourite travel tips are: if you own a smartphone check in & get your boarding pass on it to save time &paper, & standing in line at check in by going straight to bag drop, make sure you don’t have a seat near loos on long haul, don’t stand in line for xray & security behind families with small kids, teens or old folk (they take forever) , take these vitamins to help with jet lag, buy & take melatonin (illegal in certain countries so please check in advance) to help regulate sleep, drink tons of water, this eyemask saves my life again and again on flights & in hotels on shoot location. Buckle up, have a safe flight & Bon Voyage!
