Sometimes I like a bleached brow too. Here is a shoot I worked on from Numero shot by Phil Poynter. The reason I chose to bleach the brow in this instance was because the hair on both girls was slicked back and I wanted to also add an element of uniformity to the look. Both girls look nothing a like and I wanted them to look similar or at least from the same strange place. I did a natural minimal makeup and by bleaching the brows this was a good way to achieve a slightly futuristic, striking odd element. I always keep bleach in my kit and dye which I buy at Sally’s It is important to return the brow to it’s natural shade after the shoot. If I am going to bleach the brow I take a little picture of the model first thing on my iphone so that I have a visual guide and record of the original brow colour that I can reference. A bleached brow can look very beautiful and striking in editorial images or for runway. Very few women can pull this look off as it looks so extreme in real life. Only for the hardcore fashionistas amongst us.
