A little something for the bank holiday. Letty Lynton (1932) is one of my favourite Joan Crawford films. It is a tale of love & blackmail. It is hard to get hold of but well worth it for the story, acting, sets & the fabulous costumes by Adrian. One of the dresses was so popular that fans famously stormed Macy’s Department Store and the dress became a national object of desire. This is Joan Crawford at her prime. The hair & makeup is exquisite & I love the overdrawn mouth and whippet thin high round brows and can we just have another look at those lashes please?! I started thinking about vintage looking products. I am a sucker for beautiful packaging to give to my red carpet clients, my friends or for me (to pop in to a clutch bag when out on the town) as for my kit it really doesn’t matter as all gets re-housed in to palettes/sample pots etc. Do you know this independent & privately owned line Bésame Cosmetics. I fell in love with the crimson cream rouge that can be used on lips & cheeks (use fingers a sponge or brush) for a cinematic flush or stain. The story of the brand and the making of the product is fantastic. I love the packaging & authentic vintage feel, I think Ms Crawford would have approved.
