I recently came across a new mascara that I thought I just had to share with you. It is a product that really excites me & I love using it. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Two Tone Mascara. It is a double ended mascara with one end that is black with a fuller brush & the other end brown with a slimmer more delicate brush. It is mega! Some say double mascara I say it’s as good as the double rainbow clip that went viral. Click here if you haven’t seen it but come on you must’ve seen it! For years on shoots or on advertising or red carpet I have applied black mascara to curled top lashes by wiggling the brush at the root and then re applying a second coat and then adding just a touch of brown to the bottom lashes so that they are lightly defined and not totally naked (but sometimes a naked lower lash is lush!). The eyes instantly appear brighter and full of french new wave va va voom. I am a bit of a mascara nut. I obsessively look for mascara with wands that I find comfy to hold with a decent grip, a brush that I like must be not too thin and not too fat, tapered at the end. I normally leave the new mascara open for one entire night so that the mascara dries out a bit as I don’t like a too wet mascara consistency, a slightly thicker texture gives greater volume in my opinion. I hate curved brushes or those weird mascara ball brushes that were around for a minute or brushes that wiggle electrically. I am basically an old fashioned gal when it comes to mascara and I want my wand to be old school. The photograph above is by Man Ray and I find the surrealist image and the lashes so inspiring that I based the entire makeup for a JCDC show for AW12 which you can see the stills here or watch the video here. Try this product as far as I am concerned it is a new must have for both my kit & my makeup bag. Now if only Estee Lauder could produce double ended mascaras that shoot out rainbows. Ok, see what I did there? I took it way too far, think I am a little high on green tea.
