One of my favourite things to do when I have a day off in London, or any city in the world is to visit a beautiful museum that gives free lectures by experts in art/furniture/architecture. Recently I went to an excellent lecture on Madame de Pompadour at The Wallace Collection. London’s The Wallace Collection is a true gem & I am happiest sitting in the lecture hall or even the tea room filled with genteel retired folk wanting to see some exquisite Baroque art like the image above by Jean-Honore Fragonard called The Swing. See the clueless husband pushing his beautiful wife to try to amuse her as she amuses her lover who reclines on the ground whilst looking up her skirts. Ooh La La those saucy Frenchies.
