This shoot is from the June issue of Vogue Ukraine and features the gorgeous Karolina Kurkova splashing through the surf photographed by Hans Feurer, fashion editor Ekaterina Mukhina and hair by Erika Svedjevik. As we were outside in the sun I used Chanel UV Essentiel SPF 50 and Creme de la Mer’s Reparative Body Lotion SPF 30 to give protection and the base was kept light and sheer with Sunday Riley’s Tinted Primer for a clean, minimal base. Soleil Tan de Chanel was buffed onto cheekbones and temples for a soft summer tan with golden highlights added to the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow with Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse Or. As we were shooting on the beach and working with the water I kept powder to a minimum, using Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Pencils in Jet and Smoke along the upper and lower lash line blended together to create a smoky, defined eye finished with Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Mascara in Extreme Black. Brows were groomed and lightly tinted with Eyelure Dylash Brow Tint, this is great before a trip to the beach for both eyebrows and lashes to weatherproof them and add subtle definition. Lips were either the perfect caramel nude with Tom Ford’s Lip Colour in Nude Vanille or glossed over with NARS Lip Gloss in Striptease. This makeup look is all about understated, effortless, luxe minimalism with a dash of come hither eyes!
