I was recently introduced to the high tech skin care and make up range by Erno Laszlo and was immediately intrigued as he was the leading dermatologist for all of my favourite Golden Hollywood actresses from Marylin Monroe to Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Cecil Beaton and Greta Garbo. Originally working in the 1930’s in the makeup department of the Warner Brother’s Studios Laszlo began developing products to deal with the various skin concerns of the actresses and eventually launched his own brand in 1957, sold only to members at Saks Fifth Avenue. Sadly Laszlo passed away in 1973 however many of the original formulas still exist within the brand today. Go classic with the Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar as featured in Woody Allen’s Annie Hall, it does look incredibly chic in a dish in the bathroom. If you like a light coverage try the Shake It Tinted Treatment which treats as it covers or for fuller coverage there is also the option of the Absolute Finish Foundation. And for baby soft skin like Marylin’s try Active pHelityl Intensive Cream, allegedly there were pots of it on her nightstand when the star died. Spooky.
