When I first looked at the various beauty advent calendars that were around before Christmas I was intrigued and loved the idea but thought I’d wait a bit to really get to grips with them. And now with only Christmas Eve and the big day to go, I’ve been quizzing girlfriends about what they’ve been getting this month every time they open those little doors and feel well informed for the discussion. First up in the luxury stakes is the original Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar, with everything from Lancome to YSL to Kiehl’s this one sells out pretty quick but you can never be disappointed as there really is greatness behind each of those doors, there was always some dream product in there. The You Beauty Discovery Calendar is great if you’re a fan of Glossybox or Birchbox as there are such a variety of brands you may come across things you haven’t thought to try yet. All are super luxe with brands such as Sisley, Caudalie & Trilogy, there is beautiful skincare here. If you happen to have a young adolescent in your midst who loves to spend hours running testers across their hands whilst you’re off stocking up on the basics then Boots have done a 24 Days Of Beauty advent calendar which they will appreciate more than chocolate with brands such as Rimmel, Boots 17 & Origins. Something festive every day. Finally, if you like to know what you’re getting brand wise then Ciate’s Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar or Benefit’s Countdown To Love have their hero products and favourites all wrapped up. You won’t even realise its Christmas Day already.
