This shoot is an epic new beauty story from the latest issue of Purple Magazine shot by Donna Trope, featuring Charlotte Free & hair by Ward Stegerhoek. It was a crazy day of glitter, paint & of course we had to have Elvis involved. Every look was a complete change to create individual characters and beautiful, exciting makeup.
Look 1 – Here I was working with bold, colour to add a punk 80’s contour. First I created a flawless base with Shiseido Sheer & Perfect Foundation and worked with Shu Uemura eyeshadows in Gold, Soft Blue & Medium Purple across the eyes. Blush was added with Makeup Forever Blusher in Fuschia and I gave her brows attitude with Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pen in Universal Deep.
Look 2 – This look is like an amped up classic beauty look reminiscent of Roxy Music girls. I created a sheer base with Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation then contoured with Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate & highlighted cheekbones with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder for a soft focus finish. Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Steel was buffed into the eyelids and then accentuated with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. For the high impact glossy lip I used Estee Lauder High Intensity Lip Laquer in Hot Cherry.
Look 3 – To create this faded blush I used Givenchy Photo Perfexion Fluid Foundation to create a smooth flawless base and then worked in Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot and NARS Blush in Exhibit A blending them both together. On the eyelids I used Chanel Illusion d’Ombre eyeshadow in Illusoire then added layers of Diorshow Mascara in Black.
Look 4 – I love glitter and the joy of this look is that the more worn in it got the better it looked. To prep the skin for this I used Earth Tu Face Face Serum and Tom Ford Illuminating Concealer. Brows were lightly groomed with Anastasia Beverley Hills Eyebrow Gel and Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Chocolate Truffle smudged into the lower waterline and lashline. To give the glitter some grip on the eyelids & lips I used Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream then covered her in MAC Glitter in Pink.
Look 5 – For the intense metallic bronze on the eyelids I used Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Enrapture before loading up the lashes with Clinique Lash Power Mascara in Black. For the sheer natural base I first prepped the skin with Creme de la Mer the Moisturiser before applying Sunday Riley Tinted Primer with a damp sponge. To match the girly pink bubblegum I used Estee Lauder Pure Colour Long Lasting Crystal Lipstick in Lilac Lover.
Look 6 – Here I wanted the skin to have a bit more of a polished feel but still lightweight so I used YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation and then sculpted cheeks with Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Bronzing Veil. Brows were filled in with Tom Ford Brow Sculpt and the perfect blue green combination was created using NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Rated R. Finally for a hint of shine on the lips I used Chanel Coco Rouge Shine in Boy.
Look 7 – Glitter, glitter & more glitter. To prep the skin for this I used Sisley Restorative Facial Cream and Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm. To cover the entire face I used MAC Glitter in 3D Silver.
Look 8 – This look was all about the lashes so I left skin bare of foundation and instead moisturised intensively with By Terry Serum de Rose and then created a luminescence with Tom Ford Illuminating Primer and RMS Living Luminizer. F0r the intense blue lashes I used YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils in Extreme Blue and then added gloss to the lids with MAC All Over Gloss.
Look 9 & 10 – For this painterly effect I used pretty much most of the colours in my Makeup Forever 12 Flash Colour Case. To contrast the brush strokes I created a perfect matte peach lip with MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Style Surge and then added Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara in Black to the lashes.
Look 11 – I love the rough graphic elements of this look, I wanted it to have impulsive elements. To work with this I left the skin bare and just used Rodin Olio Lussio to hydrate and then Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener for any dark shadows. On the eye lids I roughly sketched Laura Mercier Creme Eye Liner in Indigo before adding layers of Lancome Doll Eyes Mascara in Black to lashes. Brows were sketched over with MAC Technakohl liner in Graph Black and then the perfect red lip was added with NARS Lipstick in Jungle Red.
