This shoot is from the AW14 issue of Under The Influence & my first issue as Beauty Director. It was shot by photographer Donna Trope featuring Samantha Gradoville & Holly Rose Emery, styling by Masha Orlov and hair by Romina Manenti. The makeup inspiration came from looking at new and strange beauty treatments such as the snail facial, vampire facial & constant searching for perfection that is happening in a lot of modern day beauty. For Look 1 I recreated the mannequin smoky eye with Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 93 Smoky Eyes using all four shades before adding a glossy red lip with YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy in Red Flash and thn echoing the shine with a highlight on the cheekbones with RMS Living Luminizer for a polished finish. Look 2 was about an intense hit of colour on the eyelids so I used both NARS Eyeshadow in Daphne & MAC Eyeshadow in Stars’n’Rockets before layering Diorshow Mascara in Black and adding a bold red lip with Sunday Riley Modern Lip Colour in Ruby Bite. With Look 3 I wanted to echo the gloss of the latex so kept the beauty natural and used Sisley Black Rose Precious Facial Oil, EOS Lip Balm and then massaged Balance Me Super Toning Body Oil into the body. For Look 4 it was all about emphasising the lips with a glossy colour so I used Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 400 The Red in a rounded shape to highlight the fullness. This was paired with thick, separated lashes using Lancome Grandiose Mascara in Noir Mirifique and a soft contour using NARS Matte Multiple in Capadocce. To create the intense metallic eyes for Look 5 I used Estee Lauder Gelee Powder Eyeshadow in Cyber Copper before deepening the socket with Shu Uemura Eyeshadow in Dark Brown and then adding MAC Haute & Naughty Mascara. For a soft petal pink on the lips I just used Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment and then warmed up the cheeks with Soleil Tan de Chanel using a big fluffy brush. With Look 6 I wanted glitter in a modern way so I worked with RMK Ingenious Powder Eyes in NEX04 all over the eyelid and up to the eyebrow before softly illuminating the skin with Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Lighting Liquid and creating a soft pink lip with Topshop Lips in Petal. For Look 7 I wanted a matte finish on the eyes so I worked with Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Camel & Rich Brown. I didn’t use any foundation on the skin and instead simply kept it hydrated with Weleda Skin Food before adding a matte peachy pink lip with Lipstick Queen Sinner in Peachy Nude. With Look 7 I added at least 10 layers of mascara to the lashes with Diorshow Mascara in Black and then created a perfect, red glossy lip with Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Gloss in Meta before moisturising the body with Creme de la Mer The Body Creme. For Look 8 I wanted the beauty to feel slightly rough and painterly so I worked quickly with MAC Chromacake in White to give a base before blending Stila Smudge Pot in Black over the eyelids. On the lips for a pop of colour I used Tom Ford Lip Colour Sheer in Firecracker. With Look 9 I kept to a sweet pink colour palette using Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick Colour in Pink Opal over the eyelids before adding a dark crease with Make Up Forever Eye Pencil in Taupe. For that lilac lip I used Serge Lutens Lipstick in Mauve de Swann. Finally for Look 10 I recreated the vampire facial so all that was needed was Guerlain Maxi Lash Waterproof Mascara and Butter London Lippy Tinted Balm in Apricot.
