This shoot is from the February issue of Vogue Paris and features the beautiful Karmen Pedaru, shot by Katja Rahlwes, styling by Geraldine Saglio & hair by Seb Bascle. So this story for the beauty was all about me wanting to bring a day time glamour. We all know about a day to night wardrobe but I wanted to bring a day to night no change makeup something that looks as fabulous in a cafe with a coffee & croissant as it would at a party with out any changes! My inspiration were actually pictures of Farrah Fawcett/Lauren Hutton at Studio 54 snapped by the ultimate paparazzo Mr Ron Galella. So for the makeup I started by bleaching Karmen’s brows which was quite a long process as her brows had just been dyed really dark a couple of days before. So I did it gently several times. I always say alien looking bleached brows on real people for real life is a no go but a shade or too lighter can be super chic and totally do-able just make sure you get the shade right with toner so that it doesn’t look orange! So this was almost no base just super moisturised skin with a couple of drops of oil mixed in to moisturiser for an added boost. At the moment I like to use Sisley Moisturizer with Cucumber mixed with Caudalie Premier Cru The Elixir. Then I used Clé de peau concealer to hide any redness and contoured with Soleil Tan de Chanel. Eyes were defined with all shades from the Tom Ford palette Cocoa Mirage for a soft blown out look. I used a Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil in 02 Brown in the socket to create the shape and then in the outer corners of the eye for definition. Super curled lashes and tons of YSL Shocking Black Mascara on upper and lower lashes. The effect with the bleached eyebrows is really striking and also has a super 70’s glam feel which is bang on trend too and can be worn day or evening. Lastly a defined nude lip using Serge Lutens lipstick in Rose de Glaces and then a Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Bare Beige. There was lots of skin on view so I used the brilliant Rose Otto Body Cream by Balance Me.
