Here is a shoot from the April issue of Vogue Japan featuring beauty Ola Rudnicka shot by Manuela Pavesi, styling by Benoit Bethume and hair by Angelo Seminara. We had all this beautiful light filtering through the windows into the amazing hall we were shooting in in Verona which looked incredible with the layers of clothing and pale blonde afro. To work with the softness of the light in the first set of shots I created a warm, contoured look with lots of lashes. Ola’s skin was prepped with This Works In Transit Camera Close Up and Creme de la Mer The Lip Balm buffed into the lips to enhance their natural colouring. To create a luminous base I used a sponge to apply Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and covered any redness with Prescriptives Flawless Skin Concealer. For darkness under the eyes I mixed YSL Touche Eclat with MAC Fast Response Eye Cream and gently patted on then set any shine in the tzone using Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. To create depth in the eye socket I used MAC Eye Shadow in Brule all over the eyelid before adding Gesso as a highlight to the centre and then contouring in the crease with MAC Sculpting Powder in Bone Beige. Lashes were key with this look so after curling twice I layered up on at least five applications of Diorshow Mascara in Black before adding Shu Uemura Flare Lashes top and bottom. Then of course more mascara. For a warm contour on the cheeks I used Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel before highlighting tops of cheekbones with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. Lips were outlined and filled in with Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Medium and then blotted with a tissue. For the second look I deepened the socket with Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Charcoal and created a sixties style graphic line with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack feathering underneath the lower lashes as well. Illamasqua False Eyelashes in No. 21 gave a full feathered look and then I added a hint of NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Iceberg in the waterline before adding more depth to the cheeks with MAC Powder Blush in Harmony and finally Tom Ford Lip Colour in Blush Nude for the perfect nude lip.
