I recently worked on a shoot with Georgia May Jagger for O magazine using all MAC products . This story was photographed by the brilliant Carlotta Manaigo & styled by new talent Azza Yousif. Georgia in the flesh is an absolute knockout. She really is a mini Brigitte Bardot . Not a bad comparison. You can see who my beauty inspiration was and here are some of my favourite more affordable high street or pharmacy makeup (click on the heavy black writing for link to product in a new window!) and top tips to getting that modern Bardot smoky eye makeup look that everyone seems to still love, reference & recreate. On a clean face I like a black eye liner to sketch out the eye shape in a feline shape that is heavy on the upper eye line. With a soft eyeshadow brush sweep a matte black shadow over the liner and soften so that there is a sensual blown out appearance to the shadow but it should still remain graphic too. Apply the black shadow to the bottom outer corners and drag upwards to the flicked out feline upper eye line & shadow using an angled brush. I like to use a finger to sort of trace over and ‘smush’ the shadow in to the pencil for a smudgy sexy finish. Take a wet wipes to clean all the product that has fallen below your eyes & on to your face, there will be a lot of black fall out. Moisturise without smudging the eye makeup! Apply a super light base, conceal & powder tzone or where necessary. Lastly fill in & define brows with a slight arch using a brow pencil & set with a brow gel , finally after curling the lashes add lots of black mascara especially on upper lashes. For an authentic Bardot look moisturise lips & blot using a tissue & define lips along actual lip line or just out of line with a nude lip pencil and smudge inwards toward centre of the lips, Dab a little thumb print of concealer on centre of lips for a light highlight. Keep it subtle and sexy. Now to channel that inner Bardot all you need is to a first class ticket to St Tropez…..
