I fly to Barcelona for hols today & attend Primavera music festival to hear amazing music meet people in a great location and then sun, sea, tapas, rioja & Gaudi. What more could a girl ask for? The image above is by one of my photographic heroes the brilliant Joseph Szabo & it is of a girl at a Rolling Stones gig in 1978. She is my festival inspiration as she looks effortless, cool & totally in the moment lets not ignore the fact that her hair alone could have a standing ovation followed by rapturous wild applause. She will be my spirit animal & who I will be channelling. If you are interested in more on Mr Szabo check this out watch this or even buy (or dream of buying) a print here. Here are some of my festival beauty tips. I literally ran around Boots like Dale Winton in Supermarket Sweep grabbing these products: Wet Wipes all the way & my ones of choice are these Simple ones as they contain no alcohol or fragrance & are gentle on the face. Optrex eye drops for blood shot eyes, the new Carmex clear spf stick lip balm which is so much more hygenic for festivals than the pots & comes in tints too. I also love this mini Evian Spray to spritz my face or back of neck or refresh makeup which works a treat on a mega scorchio day, keep product in a fridge before you go out for extra cool spray. I like this 2 in 1 hand sanitizer & hand cream by Vaseline. Look for 2 in 1 products in general as anything that doubles up & saves valuable packing space is a bonus. I love the Nars multiples (old now but in my opinion still the best for colours, texture & packaging) this year I got the bronzer multiple which come in lots of shades. I am a mentalist for sun protection, I am trying out this product by Jurlique. For a little bit of rock n roll makeup I love this Guerlain Kajal stick in black for a dirty sexy smoky eye. Place in waterline and around lashes, blink lots and let it settle to perfection. I just bought this Garnier anti dark circles caffeine under eye roller ball with tint to hide the evidence of late nights & so far I like it. My last top tip for a fab festival is this & I take the Acai (a wonder berry from the Amazon) sachet every morning. If you are at Primavera hope to see you there I’ll be the one thinking I look like the Joseph Szabo girl but in reality will probably be covered in someone else’s spilt beer, dribbling in a corner with sun stroke & barefoot due to blister pain. Ok I ruined it so please erase that mental image & just meditate on the Szabo photograph and repeat as a mantra, “I will have that hair.”
