I love the scent of roses and the traditional way they have been used within skincare, perfume and cosmetics for years whether it’s their light and delicate fragrance or a colour reference that can’t be described any other way, rose petal pink or deep blushing rose. By Terry’s Baume de Rose has been in my kit for years as I love it as a multipurpose product, also try Jurlique Rose Love Balm which is another handy pot to have with you for any dry areas or as a simple lip balm. The use of roses within skincare is great for sensitive skin try Korres Wild Rose Brightening Buff Cleanser for a gentle clean and Kiehl’s Rosa Arctica Lightweight Cream to moisturise. If your skin needs a particular boost use a facial oil such as Darphin Oganic Rose Aromatic Care or Aesop Damascan Rose Facial Treatment, I’ve also been keeping MV Organics Rose Hydrating Mist to hand whenever I need a pick me up especially in the summer heat. Keep your limbs suitably in shape as well with the French classic Roger & Gallet Rose Hydrating Body Lotion, it smells amazing all day long. A soft rose colour on the cheek is flattering on every skin tone, try Le Blush creme de Chanel in Inspiration or By Terry Rose de Rose Liquid Blush and match with a deeper rose colour on the lip. Korres Lip Butter in Wild Rose is great as an every day moisturising lip balm or try Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick in Bois de Rose. Comme des Garcon’s new Red series has a Rose fragrance that is an update on their classic or for a deep, luxurious fragrance try Santa Maria Novella’s Rose Cologne or Tom Ford’s Cafe Rose Eau de Parfum. Scent your home as well with the soothing and welcoming scent of rose, try Diptyque’s Roses Candle or Cire Trudon’s Carmelite candle and finally relax with a cup of Bloom Budding Rose Loose Leaf, you’re in rose heaven.
