Here is a new editorial I worked on for M le Monde shot by Nick Dorey, styled by Marine Chaumien, hair by Tomohiro Ohashi and featuring Kat Hessen. This makeup is a late 60’s or even early 70’s reference with a focus on the eye but to keep it modern I did a clean, minimal skin that is highlighted on the cheekbones to feel fresh. First I prepped the skin with a facial massage using Dr Jackson Skin Cream 01 and Creme de la Mer The Eye Balm under the eyes to get the skin looking its utmost. Base was kept minimal with just a little coverage where needed with Chanel Les Beiges Fluid Belle Mines to even out any redness yet allow skin to show through and a touch of Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage around the nose. With the eyes there is a strong defined crease which I created using Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in Steel Grey through the socket and then blending out with a pencil brush to diffuse and soften the effect. The eyebrows were totally ignored and there are mega curled fluttery lashes achieved by many coats of Tom Ford Ultra Length Mascara in Black on top & bottom lashes. I used the same highlighter, Face Stockholm Highlighter in Healing, on the cheekbones, bridge of nose and in the centre of the eyelid and lightly dusted the t-zone with Translucent Loose Powder by Shiseido to control shine. Finally I sketched in the shape of the lips with Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil and patted on Creme de la Mer Lip Balm for moisture.
