Years ago my girlfriends and I were hauling around sacks of makeup, bigger bags than my current clutch I now carry around on a day to day basis. No idea what was at the bottom of them but for some reason we had to be on hand for every emergency. Now I prefer a more streamlined approach, like the singular suitcase I take on shoots (yes just the one, not five or fifteen) I like to keep my makeup as basic as possible product wise and if it has more than one function I’m immediately sold. Your eyes are always the first giveaway if you are surviving on coffee and a couple hours of sleep so I like Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener just patted underneath the eyes, I also love disposable eye drops. They are tiny and single use so you just throw them away afterwards. Eyelash curlers are miracle tools but often awkward in a small bag, try Muji’s Eyelash Curlers. They are great and super compact. My first double ended product (fear not there is more to come) is Estee Lauders Sumptuous Two Tone Eye Opening Mascara which has black at one end for top lashes and brown on the other for bottom lashes. Run a shadow stick around the lash line and you are ready to go, Topshop Grunge Stick, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick & By Terry Ombre Blackstar all have great shades from dirty blacks and brown to soft golds. You can also use the lighter shades as highlighters, just be sure to blend quickly before they set. A new multiple product for me is the Ilia Multi Stick, for the summer I love I Put A Spell On You which is a soft peach and can be used on cheeks and lips for a hint of colour. For lips it’s all about double ended as it saves you carrying a  million colours. Paul & Joe’s Lip Liners have complimenting colours on either end and Bite Beauty’s Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo carries a hot pink in one end and a vibrant purple in the other. Something a friend of mine had recently which I thought quite genius was the Michael Kors Lip Gloss/Eau de Parfum which literally has one of each at either end, serious multi tasking. Finally I always have RMS Living Luminizer in my bag, it gives you natural glowy highlights in seconds.
