Women’s football has been doing pretty well reaching the World Cup Women’s Semi Final but apparently we still need a bit of encouragement to, you know, really get a handle on the game. Enter the Ladyball, with it’s unique pink coating designed ‘especially for women’s unique grip’. Thank god this has turned out to be a hoax but let’s be honest, there is still a long way to go as sadly I’m pretty sure there were a lot of people who still looked at this and went ‘yeah this kind of makes sense?’, at the moment tennis is the only sport where men & women receive equal prize money whereas overall there is about a 30% difference in earnings. So while I appreciate what they are trying to do here, the Ladyball hasn’t really helped much. Come on team, step it up.
