This is my latest beauty story for the new issue of Purple shot by Gareth McConnell with hair by Raphael Salley and featuring models Hayett McCarthy, Sofie Hemmett & Sam Toye. The shoot took on a psychedelic theme so I worked with lots of colour and texture. For the first look I created a flawless base with Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation before ringing the eyes in a purple hue using Charlotte Tilbury Amethyst Aphrodisiac Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil and Yves Saint Laurent Surrealiste Couture Palette. This was then paired with a hot pink lip using Chanel Le Crayon Levres in Fuschia and Cle de Peau 311 Extra Rich Lipstick. For the second look I used Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation for a fresh natural base and then sketched Tom Ford Cream Colour For Eyes in Opale layered with Make Up Forever White Violet Glitter. For the third look I created shapes and colours on the face using DHC Liquid Liner EX, Dior Bain De Mer 5 Couleurs Polka Dots Eyeshadow Palette and Clarins Wonder Perfect Mascara. With the fourth look I used a different kind of base with MAC Paint Stick in Genuine Orange before adding a strip of lower lashes with Eyelure 3D Dimensional 111 Fake Eyelashes and Guerlain My First Lipstick La Petit Robe Noir on the lips. For the fifth look I wanted to keep it cleaner so created a glowing base by moisturising with Chantecaille Rose de Mai Facial Oil and then lightly concealing with NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. Light definition around the eyes was given using MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork. For the sixth look it was all about a glow so just a light coverage of Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation Liquid Makeup and Glossier Haloscope Face Highlighter. With the seventh look I used Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer where needed for a fresh base and then sketched over with MAC Chromacake in Primary Yellow, just a slick of Creme de la Mer The Lip Balm hydrated the lips. For the last menswear looks I went for colour and glitter using Make Up Forever 12 Flash Colour Case and MAC Glitter in 3D Platinum and 3D Pale Mint. There’s no reason the boys can’t be as bold as the girls.
