Here is a photo of Jessica Brown Findlay (yup, Lady Sybil Crawley from Downton Abbey) shot by Alex Sainsbury and styled by Karen Langley for the current Dominic Jones campaign. I have worked with Dom since his first collection and he is a genuinely amazing new talent and dear friend. The collection is based on jewels and trinkets brought back from The Crusades. Jessica is a such a naturally breathtaking beauty with perfect skin and big pillowy lips. I wanted to do something a little different and give the makeup a modern, fashion, cinematic and historic feeling. I was influenced by an image of Winona Ryder by Mario Sorrenti also by director Tim Burton’s ( Helena Bonham Carter in Sweeney Todd) aesthetic and a bit of historic Tudor & Elizabethan makeup and loved the portrait above of Anne Boleyn. I used a white face and body foundation by M.A.C PRO and a velvet powder puff saturated with a M.A.C loose invisible powder and M.A.C PRO White powder. I did a smudgy shape using dirty matte eyeshadow colours on the eyes in shades of ochre, yellow and brown from M.A.C, Illamasqua and Bobbi Brown. No mascara but powdery lashes from the remanence on the powder puff and a darkened brow using a Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil. I used a wet wipe to clean the lip and just pressed on to the lips using my finger Bobbi Brown Extra Soothing Balm that I am totally obsessed with. Please check out the entire collection and see a little film and all the images. www.dominicjonesjewellery.com
