I used to love smoking. I mean really love smoking; when I was sad, happy, stressed, chilled, creative or blocked I loved it. I copied my idols some being Bogie & Bacall, Bowie and smoking supermodel Babes from back in the day and I started when I was a dumb but cool teen in the bushes behind the school chapel. Fast forward to 6 months ago, one day out of the blue and not for any reason and certainly not health or vanity I woke up and ”Meh” just like that I was done, over, never again. My point? Will smoking always be used in iconic fashion, film, music and art imagery to convey cool/sexy/sophisticated/rebel or will it become something that fades out and becomes extinct and future sensible generations will think we were major douche bags? I have worked on many shoots that feature cigarettes and here is one from a Vogue fashion story (bottom left of images above) that I did the makeup for with model of the moment Aymeline Valade who is gorgeous. I think we went through at least 5 packets on that shoot… Nice but really I am not one to judge. Anyway I have been treating myself to facials and attempt to reverse the already done, self inflicted damage. I am super into facials (obvs) and so far I have tried Bliss Triple Oxygen SpaNK’s Natura Bisse Vitamin C+C Facial and also Elemis Pro Collagen Quartz Lift. They are all amazing and made my skin glow on the outside.
