Here are some images from the current issue of Garage Magazine. The shoot is by the brilliant photographer Serge Leblon styling by Chloe Kerman hair by Karin Bigler & the model is Patricia Van Der Vliet. We spent the day shooting in a warehouse surrounded by the incredible art of Kate MccGwire, who we were privileged to spend the entire day in her company, grilling her about her fascinating beautiful work. Kate is amazing & lovely, we spent the end of the day drinking fresh wild mint tea & eating slices of sugary birthday cake which was heavenly. The clothes were sumptuous fabrics of silk, brocade, velvet, leather, fur and feathers with strong accessories. Patricia looked tough, dangerous, exotic & ethereal at times as she modelled next to the art pieces that are made using feathers of racing pigeons & other birds. I decided to keep the makeup beautiful, a little odd with bleached brows, a natural matte base using little if any powder, a light contour to define the cheekbone & a hint of matte nude peach on the lip. I created 2 different eyes one was a soft ‘pigeon grey’ colour wash on the upper eyelid. The other was a smokey blown out dark grey eye with an iridescent metallic green pigment pushed into the centre of the eye and no mascara at all was used. The overall all effect was romantic & strong.
