I just got back from a work stint in the States where all my girlfriends and supermodel gal pals in NY have their dermatologist on speed dial. In fact once of my girlfriends told me that her dermatologist called her the morning of her birthday to say Happy Birthday beating her parents to it, now that is impressive. Ok so the point I am making is that good skin is a serious matter as seen in this gorgeous image of Daphne Groeneveld shot by Aitken Jolly for Dominic Jones which I did the make up for. So here my latest products that I have been using on shoots and on A listers that literally make you look naturally flawless. First up is American brand Sunday Riley if you don’t know about her you soon will. I can’t get enough of her Effortless Breathable Tinted Primer which is great on its own on a good skin day or under foundation. This also plumps and smoothes the skin so what’s not to like? Another great base is the Chanel Le Blanc Sheer Illuminating Base. I only like this on Caucasian skins as it is such a pale product but it gives a beautiful ethereal and luminous effect. I say try it under base, on top for added glow or on highlight areas. Another thing to try out is Dermatologist Dr Perricone MD who has launched a range of Cosmeceuticals which basically are a combo of skin care and makeup. The No Foundation Foundation smells high tech organic, when I tried on myself there was a good coverage and it feels like it is doing something good but am not sure exactly what. Try it and see if you like it. It also looks super fancy in my kit. On to BB Creams which I have written about before but here are the latest ones: Kiehls Actively Corrective & Beautifying BB Cream which is also an SPF50 so will be in my makeup bag for my hols this summer and in my kit on location shoots in the sun. Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint, this little dynamo in a bottle has a good coverage minerals and SPF and gives a dewy glow to the skin, it’s a keeper. Clarins have also launched their Skin Perfecting BB Cream. This looks a bit mumsy but don’t be put off by the packaging as it smells great, feels great and works great. Finally just to mention a few classics that I still love The Estee Lauder BB Cream, The Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, MAC Studio Moisture Tint & Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. There is something out there for everyone regardless of skin type, tone or texture.
