This image from a 1979 Vogue Issue featuring Gianfranco Ferre was recently brought to my attention and I found it amazing how relevant the make up was to this season’s show that I worked with the designers on. When creating the look for the Autumn Winter 2013 show we referenced a lot of Lauren Hutton mixed with Andy Warhol polaroids and a bit of studio 54 to create that 70’s smoky blown out eye using the Tom Ford Eye Quad in Cocoa Mirage with a hint of metallic courtesy of Illamasqua’s Liquid Metal in Electrum. I am always influenced by cinematic and iconic imagery so I love how this photo really shows the heritage of the Gianfranco Ferre brand whilst remaining so appropriate in modern day.
