What are the best matte eye-shadow brands in your opinion? So many mattes I’ve tried are patchy, too sheer, and so hard to blend. I tend to avoid them altogether for this reason. Who makes good, buttery, mattes?

MAC, NARS, Tom Ford and Bobbi Brown all make very good matte shadows especially in a brown, grey, neutral tone. To make your matte shadows easy to blend and to get an even coverage make sure the eyelid is properly prepped before you start as any moisture will make it patchy. Blend a small amount of foundation over the entire eyelid then dust all over with translucent powder. This provides the perfect canvas for your matte shadows, start sheer and blend with layers until your desired colour and density is reached.
