I was very excited to shoot with the brilliant and beautiful actress Gillian Anderson for the new issue of Ponystep. Shot by David Hughes, styling by Phoebe Arnold and hair by Colin Gold I created a cinematic makeup inspired by film noir and women from the films of David Lynch using all MAC Cosmetics. To prep skin I cleansed with Mineralize Charged Water Cleanser and then used Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel to quickly hydrate. For a matte, flawless base I used Studio Fix Fluid to create a porcelain finish and lightly concealed under the eyes with Prep & Prime Highlighter, Magically Cool Liquid Powder kept the base matte but luminous. I softly contoured the cheeks with Powder Blush in Buff & Sculpting Powder in Sculpt, using the same shade to create a light contour through the eye socket to add depth. For a cinematic liquid line whilst keeping the look soft I opted for brown instead of black using Fluidline in Dipdown and adding extra Individual Lashes to the outer corners before layering False Lashes Mascara. For the perfect red lip I used Lip Pencil in Brick before filling with Lipstick in Russian Red for a matte finish. Finally for that additional glow I buffed Irridescent Loose Powder in Silver Dusk onto cheek bones before adding an additional highlight to the bridge of the nose and cupids bow.
