Marilyn Monroe has been a beauty icon for so many women and her makeup has always been a reference for me at some point with the creamy skin, perfect red lipstick and eyeliner always on point. To recreate the look now skin of course should be matte however it doesn’t have to be as heavy as the 50’s as there are now some brilliant formulas out there, try NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint which is velvety soft but super lightweight or Armani Power Fabric Foundation if you prefer a bit more coverage. For eyeliner I love to use MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack with a fine detail brush such as Bobbi Brown Ultra Precise Eyeliner Brush but sometimes it’s easier with a pen, try KIKO Ultimate Pen Longwear Eyeliner. Lipstick wise Marilyn is know for red but it often appeared in different ways, for the classic red try one of the new liquid formulas such as Chanel Rouge Allure Ink as you can layer up for a bold, opaque colour or apply a sheer stain and follow with a dewy balm for a hint of shine. Finally for a little extra flutter you can add some sneaky false lashes, I love the Ardell Lash Accents at the outer corners.
