Patchy is never a good thing, it’s not a word thats ever really used with a positive connotation. It’s a half arsed job. Unless you’re talking skincare, then it’s bloody brilliant. Or of course this shot from my Vogue Paris beauty shoot with Ben Hassett. Because I love a patch. They are often concentrated and specific skincare elements which when placed at the exact points you need them can do wonders. First up the most common of them all, under eye patches. Used to de-puff and hydrate when you are feeling dog tired, I love the SKII Signs Eye Masks and also the Estee Lauder Stress Relief Eye Mask as you can really feel the product going into your skin and waking you up. For facial patches try the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Face Gels, they are more of a dry patch so don’t leave you feeling sticky but plump up the skin and make your face feel smother and fresher. You could also go old school and reach for the Frownies, these patches have been around since 1889 (yes seriously) and are designed to re train your muscles that give you those little frown lines between your brows. Crazy but true. Finally lip patches. These are more of a new thing from the brilliant skin care sector in Korea but they are pretty fun, the Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lovely patches have been all over Instagram and for good reason, they make your lips super soft and dammit they look hilarious. I’m sold.
