A Turkish bath can be both the most indulgent, relaxing and invigorating thing for your body and you don’t always need to be in a hammam in Turkey to enjoy one. In London head to the Porchester Spa for an authentic hammam experience where you will find locals who come regularly for the hot rooms to detoxify. It is mixed though so if you prefer a ladies only space try the Arabian Hammam which also gives a bit more luxury with its surroundings. In Paris there are a fair few options to choose from all brilliant in their own ways but my favourites have to be La Mosquee de Paris & O’Kari. Mosquee de Paris offers beautiful high domed ceilings with gorgeous tiles and has a bit more space to lounge around. O’Kari is on the smaller side however is womens only and gives you a good thorough scrub down. New York’s Argana Spa is more spa than hammam but it does offer all the treatements you would expect and you will leave feeling thoroughly relaxed, if you prefer indulgent luxury try The Spa at Trump which is inspired by Istanbul and features beautiful tiling and stone baths. In Milan it has to be the Hammam de la Rosa which was recently voted one of the best spas in Milan and offers the full Turkish hammam experience. Of course some of you may actually head to Istanbul, if so be sure to go to Cagaloglu Hammam which has the most beautiful tiles in a huge domed roof and gives a very authentic relaxing experience. However if you are after a more modern feel try the Four Seasons Bosphorus which offers all the treatments with a few more clean lines.
