This shoot is from the May issue of Vogue China featuring the stunning Jing Wen shot by Katja Rahlwes, styling by Caroline Newell, hair by Alain Pichon and all makeup by myself using MAC Cosmetics. I wanted the makeup to feel very fresh and clean with subtle sculpting so started off by prepping the skin with Mineralize Charged Water Moisture Gel and blotting with a tissue so that it was hydrated but not greasy. I then applied a super light base using Lightful C Tinted Cream and concealing where needed with Matchmaster Concealer. To sculpt the cheekbones without adding colour I took a buffing brush and buffed in Cream Colour Base in Tint just along the cheekbones to add definition, I didn’t use powder and just blotted with a tissue where needed to remove any shine. To add to the structure of the face I made the eyebrows stronger and more masculine, sketching and filling in with Veluxe Brow Liner in Deep Brunette. Finally I created a warm nude lip by filling in the shape with Lip Pencil in Subculture and patting on Lip Conditioner with my fingertip to soften the colour.
